Placing Signs for Maximum Exposure & Effectiveness
- Place signs where traffic stops.
- Stop Signs
- Red Lights
- Parking Lots
- Drive Thrus
- Do not place signs where traffic
is moving.
- Do not place signs high to prevent
people from removing them. This will only prevent people from
seeing them as well which is missing the whole point. People do
not look up while they are driving. Place signs at eye level with
the people sitting in the cars that pass by them for maximum exposure
and response.
- An excellent location are drive
thrus at restaurants and banks where people just sit and wait
in their cars.
- Shopping center exits and entrances
and around the inside perimeter of the parking lots facing the
inside of the parking lot. (Lots of foot traffic and cars barely
moving)
- Wooden stakes or wire stakes provide
a great medium for sign displays.
- Telephone poles are ideal places
to hang signs. Use a hammer tacker made by Arrow, which can be
found at Home Depot. These 1/2" staples provide strong support
and do not create a dangerous hazard like the use of nails. These
staples also minimize the damage to the telephone poles.
- Placing signs in residential neighborhoods
is not a good idea. You would not want someone trashing up your
neighborhood. Try to keep the signs in commercial areas and use
common courtesy.
- Remember that the people in these
residential areas travel all of the commercial streets. Just do
a good job there and you will appeal to everyone.
- Do not attach to traffic sign poles.
These may cause distractions which may cause accidents or even
loss of life.
